Visiting Canada

Hi, I have a valid H1B visa till Jan 15 2009. Recently I converted my H1B to L1A with a validity upto Oct 2010. I would like to know if I can visit Canada (have valid tourist visa for Canada) and re-renter US by road with stamped H1B itself (as I don't have stamping for L1 yet).

If you enter on H1b, then your status changes back to H1b and is not L1A.

You could possibly enter using the valid I-94 from L1a using the contiguous territory rule but I would advise against it.
