  • entered on a visitor's visa

i came to usa in 2002 on visitor's visa and changed status to green card through employment petition by hospital( i'm a registered nurse).
if VO ask my mom what kind of visa i used to enter usa will it hurt her chances if she will say visitor's visa. i invited her to spend christmas with us and will sponsor her i got I-134 and supporting docs ready. her interview is on tuesday Sept.16,2008 at 0700 (manila time), she was rejected visa in 2003 for unknown reason and she is a 64 y/o widow who retired from her small business last year.

please help starting to get anxious i really want to be with my mom this christmas.

They will probably ask on what status you are currently in but not what you entered on. She needs to prove ties to the home country for a successful visa and her being a widow makes it a little difficult.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

If she is asked, she must answer truthfully. The penalty if caught lying when applying for a visa is far worse than the result of having the visa denied.

If she is planning to come for Christmas, ask for an appropriate length stay and have her have the things she needs to return to her home for on the tip of her tongue.
