H1 and EAD

Hello,
I just need an information.I hold H1 with a comany in India.I had been to US on H1 as part of my work.Now I am resigning from my comapny and joining my family on L2.As I am resigning my company is asking me to return all H1 docs.Is it ok as I wil be able to work on L2 after getting L2 EAD?
please advice.

Keep a copy of the I797 just in case you want to be on H1b again at a later date with another employer in US. That is all you need.

You can work on L2 EAD.

Depends on if you are in it for the long run or quick return. L1/L2 cannot be extended once the entire max term is over. H1b can get extended provided a green card is in progress.
