Hi !

My H4 Visa is pending at the Chennai Consulate for additional administrative processing ( u/s 221g - blue form) since 08.09.08, I am planning to apply for Visitor Visa (B2) to visit my husband for a short period.

Presently I am working in India. I shall be glad if you could advise me on the following:

1. Required Documents if it is a self sponsored trip.

2. In my salary a/c , the balance is sufficient to buy my tickets only. I do not have any property in my name. Will that be an issue during the interview?

3. However, I can show my employment details, & leave approval letter from my employer to show my " ties" with India / reason to come back to India.

Hi !

I have been issued 221g (blue form) on 08.09.08 for additional administrative processing of my H4 application.

The Consulate wants to verify/ confirm the H1B status of my husband.

Infact , my husband had filed I485 during July 2007 & the USCIS website's latest online status shows it is still pending & the visa dates are not current, as such he status is still H1B .

How can I bring this to the notice of Consulate? Is there anyway I can expidite the process? It has been more than 3 weeks now. Pls advise.
