Worked in the US illegally for 16 years - Need visa now

A question about a holiday that my partner and myself would like to go on. 20yrs ago i returned to england after working illegaly in the states for 16yrs.

Will they let me return for a holiday?

I did pay my taxes and i do have a social security number. At the time i went to work in the states on contract for 3yrs and foolishly stoed their.

Could you please give me a good report on this.
