B2 visitors visa

We had applied for our parents extension on B-2 visa for 3 months and received receipt notice in January 2008. We did not hear back from USCIS and they returned back to India in June 08. We were in the process of changing residences when the approval notice was sent and got returned back to USCIS as undeliverable on October 7, 2008. On October 30, 2008, we had applied through phone and through AR-11 for change of address and received receipt from USCIS confirming that address has been changed on the pending application on Nov 7, 2008.

My parents are returning back to US on December 26, 2008. I have the following two questions

in this regard:-

1) Would there be any problems in the re-entry if they do not receive the approval notice before that time?

2) Would they get permission to stay in the US for 6 months, if they get re-entry, based on the fact that there stay was extended for 3 months the first time?

So what was the total duration of stay when your parents last visited you?

Thanks for replying back . My parents stayed for 9 months as we requested for an extension of 3 months for them.

They should wait ATLEAST one year before attempting to visit again. There are v slim chances of getting 6 months I-94 duration this time.
