Trying for Visitor Visa

My wife and 5 yrs old kid are going for their visa interview. I already have 10 Yrs multi entry visa valid till 2018. I've been to USA twice and this time in March, I want to take them. I've prepared their file with following documents:
1. VISA forms
2. A letter to consulate
3. My three months bank statement
4. My salary certificate
5. My passport copy with pages where stamps are there
6. My kid's school ID card

Is there anything else I should add?

Does anyone have an idea when Hyderabad consulate will start? I checked their website and they mentioned that it was formally opened in Oct 2008 and they'll start scheduling visa by the year 2008 end.

Xerox copy of my passport is alright or should I send them with my original passport?
