Hello,
My mother’s Indian passport’s first page has her complete name (First Name + Last Name) in her Given Name and Surname is blank.
In feb’2008; she got the corrections in the name and it was marked on the third page of her passport; which shows Surname and Given Name separate.
When she applied for her US Visitor visa, she mentioned her Surname and Given name in the application and also supplied a letter to mention the change in the passport on the third page.
Still she is given the visa with her Family Name as her complete name (First Name + Last Name), while Given Name is FNU. This matches with the first page of the passport but not with the corrections in the passport on the third page.
I just noticed it the visa photocopy, and I am not sure whether visa was issued in this manner by deliberation or mistake.
She is coming to USA on this weekend, would she has any trouble at the port of entry? What can she tell the CBP officer at immigration window?
Thanks,
Anurag
