  • How we got our Parents' Temporary Travel Visa after 4 rejections

This is regarding my parents' ordeal in going through the temporary visa process for an year and a half and how we resolved it.

My parents visa was first rejected in early 2006. At that time both my brother and I were in the U.S. I was a permanent resident and my brother was on L1 visa. Even though my parents had sufficient property and pension in India, and my father's status as retired federal government officer, to our shock the visa application was rejected. The reason cited was since both their kids were in the U.S.A, they are likely to immigrate! Subsequent to that, my parents applied for visa again in subsequent months thinking that the visa was rejected only because they were unlucky with the previous visa officer. They mentioned that my brother's stay in U.S.A was only temporary as he was on L1 visa. Regardless of that, their visa was rejected again and again. My brother came back to India in 2006 end after completing his temporary stay in the U.S. My parents applied for visa again in early 2007. This time they had my brother's passport copy marked with his return to India stamp. The visa was rejected again though all my parents papers were in order. The visa officer did not care to look at my parents papers even.

Finally in Mid 2007, we decided to process our parents visa papers through Piyush Seth, Attorney at Law, Seth Law Associates, Pittsburgh, Phone: 412-281-6005. The attorney sourced information from us on our parents monetary and family ties. He prepared a package with necessary details presenting our case. This time the consular officer read the paper prepared by the attorney and granted them a 10 yr multiple entry visa asking a few basic questions to my father like where his daughter was working, what he was planning to do on the U.S. vacation, how much pension he was getting etc. The Visa office was much more respectful and nice. We believe our approaching Seth Law Associates was a turning point in our parents' visa process. To enhance their chances of successful visa interview outcome, we recommend Seth Associates to those applying for visa.
