Hi,
My parents are from Maharastra. Father's age is 65 and mother's age is 60. I prepared all necessary documents and sent them to India. In addition, there is agent in Mumbai who prepared document on their behalf to submit to US Consulate Mumbai. Interview was scheduled on 09/15/2004 (Wednesday) around 2:00 PM. First of all agent asked my parents to use Gujarati interpreter (though we speak gujarati, we born and brought up in Maharastra), so my father ask for same and then when they went on Window, there was no one to interpreter Whatever officer asked in Gujarathi language to my parents, so my father talk to US consulate officer in English. He only asked three questions to my parents
Officer: 1. who is in US?
My father: My son
Offier: 2. What does he do?
My father: He works for <xxxx> company.
Office 3. What kind of work he do in <xxxx> company?
My father: My father told him my designation in the company.
After 30 seconds, officer gave my father a letter saying that your application has been rejected under code 214(b) ""
My parents carried all necessary documents like property papers like house, farm and so on, and then bank balance and Fixed deposits. Family photos and registration card in India, Life insurance policy in India and some few documents. However, they did not submit to US Consulate, they thought if officer asked for it then they will provide a proof of their property papers to consulate officer, but Officer did not ask for it. Now here is confusion of what would have gone wrong and what my parents need to do in second interview to get US Visitor visa?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Nitin
