w2 for last 3 years is compulsory

Hi
My parents are having interview next month at CHENNAI.
is it necessary to send w2 for last 3 years.our w2 for 2002 is missing will this be a problem at the time of interview.i have send w2 for 2000,2001,2003.Please advice .

I think they ask for W2s compulsory. They asked my parents only for that. You can ask your employers HR office for a duplicate of your old W2, they will issue that to you. good luck.

Please note that other than the application form DS-156, photograph and the fees, all other documents are optional.

There is no rule that someone must have 3 years W2 or 1 year W2. It really depends upon officer what he would ask for and what he would not.

There are people who got visa without producing any W2, 1 year W2, 3 years W2, and there are people who got refused visa even after showing 3 years W2.

But as a general guideline, it is advisable to carry last 3 years W2.
