  • ***URGENT HELP***Parents Visa Rejected under 214(b)

    Hi,

I am working in US on L1B. The Visa is going to expire in Dec 2009 before which i will return back to India. I am the only son and my parents wants to visit US when i am here. My father is retired Bank Manager and my mother is a home maker. They have good Financial Background (Agricultural Lands, Houses etc) which they have to take care.

My parents went for their visitor visa interview on Feb 11th to the Chennai consulate and they got rejected under 214(b).

we had prepared all documents based on immihelp.com (property papers, affidavit, declaration letter, invitation letter and everything)

    My questions are:
    1.how soon can they re-apply?
2.Should my parents apply seperately, in which case my mother can apply first and say that she has to return since her husband is here.
3.What additional evidence can be shown to confirm their return?

Could those whose parents/relatives' visitor visa was rejected at first but was later approved post their cases here? Particularly please tell what you did and how you strategized after the first rejection.

    Kindly help me..

    Regards,

The procedure is the same again. Focus on proving ties to home country.

    1. Anytime. But recommended after a change in circumstances, which are more towards strengthening ties to home country.

    2. This is an old trick. Cited many a times in posts here about how they are aware of this trick and it doesnt help but worsens the case more often than supporting.

    3. You must thing about this yourself, like a return ticket, shorter duration of stay, something that parents are engaged in, in their life etc.
