  • transit visa FRANKFURT ?

applied for visitor visa extension, have a 10yr Multiple entry visa, i-94 expiring March 27 2004.

seems like i can stay legally till i get an answer from CIS(INS).

    this is a weird situation.

If i get "extension denied" notice, and if i travel back to india via FRANKFURT, do i need to take a TRANSIT VISA ?

my assumption is based on the fact that i have a overstayed i-94 & extension denied which cancels 10yr Multiple entry automatically because of the over-stay.

    please help.

      will this help ?

Regarding the transit-visa requirement for Frankfut -
having a denial letter & receipt notice, will that help to justify the 'stay-in-usa' after i-94 expiration ?

        Re: will this help ?

I am not sure I understand the question.

You have to tell German consulate why you need transit visa. (You need because your 10 year multiple entry is void now because your extension was denied.)

            answer from german consulate

            my question :

            <<<
"It's an assumption that if my visitor-visa-extension
is denied and my I-94 has expired, my 10yr Multiple
visa in the passport will become invalid. Nobody
cancels or strike out the visa in the passport but it
            just becomes invalid".

i cannot prove & don't know how true the above
            statment is ?

But assuming the statment is true, eventhough my
visa-stamp on the passport is not striked-out, do i
need TRANSIT VISA flying through FRANKFURT ?

            >>>

            Answer from German consulate :
            <<<
