Wait time for interview appointment at Chennai

Hi!

As per TT services, the chennai consulate has a 5 week wait time for appointment. Its states its ok to appear for interview at delhi/Kolkata (Apparently this has been pubished in local news papers in Chennai/Blore)

1. Has anyone tried for appointment at Chennai consulate
recently? How long is the wait? I know someone who is waiting for the passport to come thru.

2, How long does it take for the drop box application to be processed at Chennai.. Any recent experiences?

3. Why can't the Consulate move couple of officers from Delhi/kolkata to Chennai/Mumbai to overcome this issue , rather than asking everyone to go to Kolkata/Delhi (Wishful thinking :-)

Chennai interview

I made an interview appointment for my parents on the 17th of this month. As of that day all days until Apr 26th were booked.
