How to change my mother's name in the passport?

Hello Friends,

I would like to know how to change my mother's name in my Indian Passport.

I am in my H1B Visa and my mother recently corrected her name in her Indian passport due to some unavoidable circumstances.

So, is there a way to correct my mother's name in my passport by contacting the Indian Consulate in US ?

Can someone help me to understand the process like...will they issue a new passport and if so will it affect my H1B status in any way?

I have the same problem & i am not able to get in touch with the Indian Consulate in Washington DC. Can anyone guide on the same. I need to apply for my mom's visitor visa.

Did you receive any positlve response on corrections to your mother's name in your passport? As im facing the same issue and need your advise if you have solution to it
