  • Possible overstay - what to do ?

We found out late that my mother would need a transit visa for London Heathrow - because has entry visa has expired but her I94 is still valid.

I have sent the application by mail but later when I contacted the UK embassy, they said that it could take them 5 - 10 days to issue the visa. My mother's I94 expires on 27th and I have posptoned her flight for the 26th. In case I do not receive the transit visa by then, what are the options ?

Her passport and tickets are with the british consulate - for transit visa.

    thanks, muthukumar

In that case, she can't leave US without getting passport back. You need to change her ticket after the date she gets transit visa.

      Thanks for the reply.

In case I postpone her ticket by a day or two, that would be later than the last day of I94, is there anything I can do now to inform that she is overstaying for just a day or two - so that she does get into trouble when she applies for an entry visa next time ?

      regards,muthu
