Visitor Visa for father-in-law and mother-in-law

I have heard that few people are able to get visitor visa at Ahmedabad without having to go to Mumbai and pass through the interview process. Is it correct ?. My father-in-law is 60 years of age and I would strongly prefer if US Embassy allows this ?.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That is not true. Everyone in Ahmedabad need to go to US consulate in Mumbai for in person interview.
