please help

I was fallen sick in april,and told by physician that I need complete bedrest for one month.He has 10 years multiple visa,and his stamping is till may 31st,so he extended till july 11th.We applied to USCIS ,and received their letter to on may 11th stating that they have all the documents,and will tell their decision later.
Now we have plans to go cruise in june,and my husband wants to take my father too.We have few doubts,please clarify,
1.Can we take my father with us.
2.Will he have any problem as we already applied for his extension,and now taking to cruise.

Bed rest and cruise dont really go together

What if I file on time but USCIS doesn’t make a decision
before my I-94 expires?
If we receive your application before your status expires, and if
you have not violated the terms of your status and meet the basic
eligibility requirements, you may continue your previously approved
activities in the United States (including previously authorized work)
for a maximum period of 240 days, or until the first of the following
occurs:
• We make a decision on your application; or
• The reason for your requested extension has been
accomplished.
