L1-A Expired , Extension Applied.Sponsor Parents

Hi All,
My L1 A Visa and I-94 dates has expired and my company has filed for its extension.As of now I only have the L1 Visa extension receipt.
I am planning to sponsor my parents ( from india) to visit US.
Is it possible to do so ?
Can I send just the receipt for Visa extension as a proof ?

I will appreciate any help you can provide.
