Finally my in-laws got the visa on 3rd attempt

First rejection March'04 asking for my BIL's passport but i was the one who sponsored

Second rejection was in May'04 just looked into docs and said sorry


Third attempt Aug 18th, went thru the docs from me and my BIL asked some questions on who will pay for tickets etc.. and finally got it


first two times they opted for telugu transalator this time they took it in English that is the difference

I cannot really find any reason why it happened and why it didn't it depends on luck and mood of the person sitting on the other side of the window!!

Parents having an appointment at Chennai Consulate!!

My parents are having an appointment at Chennai Consulate next month. If u could please post the questions which are asked during the interview, and u told ur parents are taken telugu translator at first and later english. If u could suggest me which is best.

I haven't sent any doc letter, initially thought of doing it but didn't , our baby is already a month old , I wrote a letter to consulate explaining them about my in laws how they are involved with family back there and how it is difficult for them to stay here during winter trying to eliminate their belief of they staying here permanently,

I didn't include the letter saying I will make them visit all over USA in these six months, i just mentioned they will visit a few places here around where i live and will spend some time with my family so that they get familiarized with the life style of their kids etc..

Hope this helps , also forgot to mention i took the clue from someone this board saying that he took up getting the visa for his parents as challenge so I also did the same, don't give up guys, Good Luck to all.

Thanks a lot for the info. I have few more questions 1. How old r ur in-laws(because my in-laws r 50 and 45 and they were rejected twice before july). 2. What is the lenght of ur in-laws visa.

They got the Visa for 1 yr,

I completed by 6yrs on H1 and i have my EAd valid till Aug'05 that could be the reason, my I -485 got approved y'day

Also their ages are 64 and 54.

One more thing try to write the letter to the consulate very convincingly don't take the std format, Also the invitiation letter phrase it differently don't take the std format, if it is for your in laws make sure you have yours and your spouse name in the From column and both of you sign on it(it may help i did the same).
