Hi..I am currently in USA on L1 visa. I got married 10 months ago and we did did maistake of not registering the marriage. My wife is currently in India. I would like to bring my wife to USA. I can't apply L2 for her since original marriage certificate is needed. Instaed can i apply visitor visa for her? Will there be any problem in doing like that? Kindly advice.

What &%&*%* are you talking about? If you got married, it can be registered late as well with sufficient proof of marriage at the registrar office. Do it and apply for the right kind of visa that a spouse qualifies for.
Visitor visa is for a specific purpose not for a spouse.

To obtain a marriage certificate, i heard that both me and wife should be present during the registration. Since i am in US, i am not able to do that. She won't be staying all the way. It is just for a shart period..around 1 month.Last edited by manivannants; 07-28-2009, 06:50 PM.Comment
