Changed name of passport which name to be used to book ticket

Hi there

I am looking for advise I hope somebody can help me.

My wife has 10 year multiple visa to USA on her old passport which was issued to her before marriage

Recently she got her new passport and now she has passport on her married name ( old passport stamped cancelled by Indian embassy here and it has valid visa to US) . By reading this forum I understand that my wife can still travel to USA using her old and new passport.

So I am wondering while booking her ticket should I use her married name ( name on the new passport which does not have US visa)

or old name ( which is on the old passport which contains valid visa but passport says it is cancelled as new one is issued )


Any help in this regards would be helpful. Also I won't mind applying a new visa for my wife but we were thinking to travel to USA for a week in end of august so it would be very difficult to get new visa in a short time.


Has anybody had any personal experence in this regards ? If anybody recommends that we don't get into this hassle and get a new visa for my wife I can go for that.

Name should match the passport as passport is the document that allows international travel. She needs to carry proof of the name change, marriage certificate etc during travel as they check the visa in the EU before boarding the plane.
