Just want to share the happy news that visitor visa for my mom and In-Laws was approved yesterday (Aug 7th, Chennai). I took a risk of sending all 3 of them and luckily it worked out. I thought this might help for someone who is looking for info with similar situation.
Questions:
Good Morning!! (greetings exchanged)
Q:How are you all related?
A:this is my son's FiL and MiL
Q:For how long do you know each other?
A:From my sons' mariage which took place last year (May 2008)
To my Mom: where is your husband? (she is widowed)
Q:What is your son doing?
A:My son is YYYY in YYYY company
Q:What are you doing?
A:Agriculture - coconut farms, xx acres
Q:What is your income?
A:About 8 lakhs per year
To my Father-in-law: What are you doing?
A:Agriculture - coconut farms, xx acres
Since both of them said Agriculture (coconut farms) and same xx of acres.
Q: are they same farms or different?
My Mom: they are different and located in different places.
Q: How far are they?
My Mom: 25kms.
My Father -in-law offered to show the land documents. But they didnt see it.
Okay, your visa is approved. You will get your visa in one week.
That is all. They didnt ask any questions to my mom-in-law. The feedback from my folks was the translator and the person who interviewed, both of them were really nice and warm. They got all my documents and looked at it, but they asked only above mentioned questions.

- I send all 3 of them together and used tamil translator
- I am the sponsor
- My mom - 2nd time. Visa rejected 1st time in Dec 2005
- My in- laws - 1st time
- My mom has elder son and his family, with whom she lives with, in India
- In-laws have their elder son and his family in London
- Both have agriculture (coconut farms) as their income source in India
- None of them traveled before outside India
