Visa - immediately after interview ?

Hi,
I would like to know if we get the visa immediately aftre the interview at the consulate itself ? Some of my friends told me that there is no visa issued at the consulate, it comes by pist after 2-3 weeks. Is this true ? Please clarify as this is very urgent.

Yes

Visa is not issued over the counter. If the application is approved, you have to submit your passport and it will be mailed with the visa later. Depending on where you live, it may take anytime between 1 day to 2 weeks.
