My friend traveled to the United States in 2005 as an exchange student. He stayed for a year and returned to his country El Salvador a month before his student Visa expired but he forgot to leave his I 94 slip when he left the United States. Last week he sent a letter explaining his case with a copy of his documents proving that he has been in El Salvador during the past three years. He would have liked to visit his friends in the United States for the holidays or for his vacations early next year. How long must he wait to be able to apply for a Tourist Visa?
