Can we book the flight tickets with return date (6 moths)?

My mother-in-law got her Visitor visa recently (on 4th May) for 10 years. Now we are planning to book the flight tickets for her. Can we confirm the return date also now itself calculting 6 months from the Arriving date. If so, will it be 6 months or 180 days.

I think you should call your travel agent or the airline office of the flight you want to take....
they will be able to tell you exactly how to do this since the policy varies from airline to airline (depending on teh booking system they use etc).
