Hi, though this question has been asked many times and confirmed that 134 doesnt need to be notorized. I checked the FAQ in and Q3 has following answer. This scares me. should we notorize or NOT. Please HELP!!!!

Q.3 What is a Form I-134 (Affidavit of Support)?
Ans U.S. based sponsors of nonimmigrant visa applicants can complete a Department of Justice Affidavit of Support known as Form I-134, which should be submitted by the applicant at the time of the interview with a Consular Officer. If you are completing the form on behalf of a nonimmigrant visa applicant, please ensure that you complete all the questions and leave no blank spaces, sign the form and notarise it in the United States or at a U.S. Diplomatic Mission overseas

I don't see what is there to be "scared" about in this.

Since the FAQs on the VFS page mentions notarizing the form, just go ahead and get the form notarized, man!

If it is not necessary the VO/consulate will just ignore it. A visa application is not going to be rejected because you notarized the I134 form.

          Those instructions are definitely outdated.

Also, there is a lot of information on U.S. consulates web sites in India that is really outdated and simply incorrect.
