Father's visitor visa pending

My parents had gone for visa interview on Nov 18, 2009 at the Chennai consulate. My mother was given a 10-year visa but my father was given a pink slip and asked to check his case status online. It's almost 8 weeks and it still shows pending. They had mentioned that it would take 6-12 weeks for processing.

Do I call or email the consulate regarding the status? Or should I contact a senator here?? Or should I wait for a few more weeks before contacting anyone?

Please advise.

Pending file for 221g application processing

Farrey, I am in same dilema .....

My parents went for B2 visa interview( for the first time) on 19th of Jan, they were apparently given pink form and asked to chec the status online in a weeks time.

But, looking at the sample Pink form it is basically stating that your application is pending further document review. My dad has filled the questionaire at the time of intervirew, but I am not sure if thats enough or not. My parents are retired (Mom -59 and dad 64)

Q --
Is it okay to contact consulate enquiring whether they need further documents or not? (Its mentioned in the consulate website that calling with regards to application, might cause further delays, but if they are waiting for documents then not sending them would further delay the process.)

What is the significance of Pink/ Blue and Yellow forms people are getting?

We did not fill the D 157 form for the interview, is that included in the application form now for all age group??

Even my father was asked to fill a questionnaire after the interview. It was basically like the DS-157 form asking his education and employment details.
The interviewer did not check a single document they had taken with them. Just asked them some basic questions. From whatever
I have read so far, my father's "common Muslim" name may have been the reason for his pending visa.

We had not filled the form DS-157 at the time of interview because it was not required for applicants aged 55 and above.

To answer your question, I don't know the significance of the pink/yellow forms.

I am still in a dilemma whether to contact them or not. My parents have to be here by March for my delivery. Don't know if they will be able to make it in time.

I don't have the questionnaire. My father had filled it out and handed it over to them after the interview. He was not given any copy either. The form contained basic questions about his education and employment details.

221g administrative processing- 3 months and still pending

Its been three months since my father was issued the pink slip and still no response from them. How much longer should we wait?? Is there absolutely nothing that can be done about it?

Its ridiculous to hold our passports for such a long time.

dad finally got his visa

After 3 months and 2 days of administrative processing, my father finally got his visa with 10-year multiple entry..
