NOC for VISA

Hi,

I am planning to call my parents in US by Mar 2010, for VISA my father being a govt. employee have applied for No Objection certificate from their dept.
I just want to know If NOC is mandatory to appear for Visitor VISA. Being in govt service we expect that It would take too long to get NOC, so would you suggest to take VISA interview dates without NOC.

The NOC is to be presented in order to prove that your father has a job waiting for him when he returns from his US trip and that provides crucial evidence of his economic ties to India and will be treated as proof of his intent to return.

So yes, it is a very important document for him to have when he goes for his visa interview.

i am also in the same situation as you. did your father apply for visa with noc.
or did he get the visa without noc?
