Mother's passport does not have SURNAME, Need input on DS160

Hi everyone,
I am in need of input for my mother's DS160 .

Her "First name" is printed on the India passport, but there is no surname.

I have filled DS160 like this
First Name = GIVEN NAME FROM PASSPORT
Surname = FNU


I want to confirm if this is right thing to do?

I have filled DS160 like this
First Name = GIVEN NAME FROM PASSPORT
Surname = FNU

FNU stands for FIRST NAME UNKNOWN
LNU stands for LAST NAME UNKNOWN

So, you should use LNU instead of FNU.
