Applying for a b2 visa for the first time

Hi guys, it's my first time seeking a visa, I am an entertainer/actor albeit not yet an household name, I have been recognized and invited to receive an award in a cultural event in the USA.. It's huge for me and my career, problem is I don't have a very good travel history, I can sponsor myself comfortably though, and also no child yet but my wife and I are expecting our first In a few months.. What chances do I have in acquiring a visa to attend that event?

You still have high chances, get documentation from the cultural event (hope its a well known one).

Better to have them sponsor your visit - get it written on invitation letters & that they will arrange for your stay etc. as well.
