  • Visa for 2nd visit

my mother is a 60 year old widow with 2 daughters...one in the US (me) and the other is divorced and lives with her.
she got her visitor visa in her first attemp but that was a one year multiple entry visa.she visited us in sep 2008 for about 4.5 months..and left the US in feb 2009.
we wish to call her again this summer for about 3-4 months.we need to re-apply for her visitor visa.is it a good idea to call her over again after just 1 yr 4 months or should we wait for some more time?
has anyone on the forum applied for a second time? pls share your experience?

Just to be on the safe side she should wait until she has been in India for 2 years.
It simply helps her to prove to the consulate that she is not desperate to and does not plan to return to the US every year.
After all the reason she got a one-year visa rather than a 10-year visa the first time around was because the consulate was not sure of her ties to her home country.

thanks smohanty...the last thing we want is a rejection.

i would be glad to hear from someone who has re-applied after a gap of less than 2 years..
