will different middle name cause problem ?

I am planning to call my parents to USA from India on a tourist visa for a short visit.

1. My mom's name is printed wrong in her passport, which was made 3 years ago. How long will it take to get corrected, how much will it cost and what is the procedure ?


2. My father name everywhere in my documents, my mother's passport does not contain his middle name but in his passport, he has a middle name - "Kumar" , will it cause any problem with our documents or shld we get his name change also.... Problem is that in every document of his, his middle name appears

It would be best to have the consistent documents. Therefore, if the passport has the incorrect name, get it changed in the passport.

Timings vary based on the passport office.

We are more concerned with my father's passport because

1. His documents shows the middle name
2. Ours don't

What should we do ?

Ask him to prepare an affidavit that various combinations of the names are for one and same person.
