  • B2 Visa while on H-1B

    Hi,
I work remotely (from Canada, if relevant) for a US based company. I receive my income in the US deposited to a US bank account and am employed on an H-1B (I was in the US up until a few months ago). So I can travel to US for work on my H-1B without any issues.
Does anyone know whether I can apply for a B2 Tourist visa as well? I have heard that in theory this is possible but was wondering if it will be difficult?

    Any response is appreciated.
    Thanks.

Just FYI, you currently do not have a status in the US (you "used to be" on H1). Yes you can apply and in theory, yes you can hold both H1 and B1 visas at the same time.

Also, If you have ever filed for your immigration petition, then B1/B2 visa is not for you anymore.
