  • Child name change is passport requires name change in B2 visa?

My daughter's (5 years) Given name in passport is her first name and surname is empty (this is because of wrong format name updated in the birth certificate)
and on her US B2 visa, her Surname is updated as the first name and Given name as FNU.

    Passport name:
    Surname: (empty)
    Given Name: Siya

    B2 Visa name:
    Surname: Siya
    Given name: FNU

Her passport is about to expire and we want to reissue her passport with the correct name
    Updated passport name will be:
    Surname: Jadhav
    Given NameL Siya Arun

So my question is will I need to apply for new B2 visa for my daughter on her new passport or the visa on the old passport along with name change documents will work while we are traveling.

To be on safer side, apply for a new visa for her. Or else be ready to prove that both names belongs to her only.

      Similar question on my end.

I had my entire name with expanded initials in Given name (ZZZ YYY ZZZ) and my surname was empty.
My B1/B2 visa has FNU in Firstname and entire name in Surname (ZZZ YYY ZZZ).
I now applied for a new passport and have bifurcated my name. So my new passport has Given name: YYYY YYY and Surname : ZZZ

Do I need a new Visa or is it OK as i will be travelling with the old passport which has the VISA in it?
