Urgent help!! please !!

hi all !

I had posted my case here earlier but I got no response

anyway, My visitor visa was held for further processing and i had to travel out of India in the meanwhile.. SO currently I am in UK and my visa is now ready for stamping in India.. I want to no that :

1. Is it possible to get the visa stamped by sending my passport thru someone to India?

2. I told them that I will be enter the US on 18th July for 3 weeks during the visa interview. So does that mean if they give me the visa in July sometime (thats when i can goto India for stamping earliest), chances r there that it might have expired before they stamp it? or is it like the visa is valid for 3 months (if its a 3 month visa , say) from the date i get it stamped?

I really need some help there !! please

2. You can travel at any time during the validity of the visa stamp. What exact dates they will put depends upon them.

The visa applicant would be required to deliver the passport to the consulate in person. No one else would be let in to the consulate premises in place of the applicant even if they had an authorization letter from the applicant. The US consulate in London would also not take responsibility of delivering the applicant's passport to the US consulate in India.

You would be able to travel to the US anytime during the duration of the visa stamp.

Actually my question concerns the date of validity of the visa... I want to no when does the visa validity start ? on the day they stamp it on the passport (which in my case , can even be July/Aug) or the day they decided they will give me the visa and mailed me (April end) ..?

Do they let u no if u enquire about ur visa validity ?

As I said before, no one other than the consulate themselves tell you what dates they will put in your visa.

Therefore, no point asking that again here.
