My husband is on H1 and is in the US for 7 months now. I am on L1 and want to take my father when i go in jan2005. My husband send the papers needed for the visitors visa for my father.
I have a question here. All my certificates, passport etc has my maiden name but only in my husbands passport, my name is marriage name. Will this matter. What should i do to cover this.

My father has to take my passport and marriage certificate also , so if this is checked then my father should have something to show that both are same,

Will an affidavit from a notary saying that both these names are the same will do. Will it be expected that all the documents change their names.

I am confused.

2) One more query, my father is retired, so no tax returns certificates are needed, or should he take the ones he paid when he was working.

1. As long as he show marriage certificate, no other affidavit is required.

2. Yes, take old ones.

My main concern was, that the name in the marriage certificate and the name of spouse in his passport are different. Should i understand that this does not matter.

Without necessarily revealing personal info, or using A, B, C etc. post how the name is written in different places.

ok My Maiden name is say A B

and my name after marriage is A C (Husbands name replaces fathers)

My tenth, grad and PG certs, Passport , Marriage certificate, has the name
A B.

THe only place the name is 'A C' is my husbands passport where they write the spouse name.

As , my Husband is sponsering for my father (his FIL), I was concerned if this will matter if they verify.

Will taking an affidavit to say that A B and A C is the same be a support in case its verified.?

and if I take an affidavit like that, will I be expected to change my passport etc... Pl guide?

Does not your marriage certificate have A B as well as A C names?
If not, take an affidavit that both names are same.

No need to change passport.

No Marriage certificate has only A B.
