Query regarding appointment after no show.

I was a no show for my appointment. I wanted to apply again but my status as no show wasn't updated. So I couldn't reactivate my HDFC receipt through Vfs. So I contacted the Embassy to update my status but they keep giving me an expedited visa appointment date despite telling them that I do not need an Emergency appointment.
Did anyone have a similar experience? Is this the normal procedure for No Show candidates? My status hadn't been updated for 2 months.
