Unable to get a hindi interview date for B2 Visa @ Delhi Counsulate

Hi,

I am unable to get an interview date with Hindi as the language for my mother's visa (B2) at the Delhi Counsulate. have been trying for the past two weeks with no luck.

Tried calling VFS helpdesk & all they have to say is...there are limited slots for the hindi interview & keep trying..the best time is between 7:30am to 12:00pm IST.

This is very urgent...if someone know what can be done here..please respond.

i have also been trying to get a hindi appt at new delhi for my in-laws since june 15. if it is urgent, you can e-mail new delhi consulate, they will ask you a documented reason for emergency appt. make sure you have a strong valid reason. if you do, the they will give you a slot of earliest available emergency date/s.if not, then you can keep trying just like me and pls post a message in this thread if u see any dates available, i will do the same if i see any. thanks,

I took my mom's visa appointment date today(30 June 2010) at Delhi Consulate on 22nd july. I was 8pm(PST) (8.30am in India) when i took it. Only 22-23rd July were open. Dates showed up for 7-8 mins.only..After downloading Mom's appointment letter I checked for the dates again & they were gone..I went through so many forums to get the tips for tracking visa dates..What I collect from all is (most probably) try looking for dates at the end & middle of any month to get dates for following month. Another thing definitely try between 6.30am-9.30am (IST) & 3.30pm-7pm(IST) on Thur,fri & following Mon. after every 10 or 15 mins if possible ( remember we have to increase our probability to catch visa dates) Its bloody luck based thing which I know everyone is not so gud at that..
I was checking for dates from last 25 days & spent many sleepless nights just for getting visa interview date..It seems these days getting visa dates is just similar of getting jobs in recession pd.
Anyways good luck for all those who are trying...this is what we all need most at this point of time. If you have any query just ask..We are here to help out each other. Thanks !!
PS- Sorry I keep copy paste my previous post as, answer is same every time. If its really urgent & u r open to change ur consulate option. U can fill your DS-160 form again & take ur date on Kolkata or Chennai consulate ( Hindi is option too)

You can't do "shopping around" for the consulate most suitable to you.

You will have to go to the consulate that has the jurisdiction over your residence.

absolutely true. i called both VFS and new delhi consulate regarding this. both of them said that applicants MUST select the consulate of residence. if they do attend interview at another consulate, even if it is an emergency, they should be prepared to provide STRONG documented evidence of the reason for changing the consulate.

still not getting dates at delhi counsulate

This is a very sad situation at the Delhi Counsulate...its been over 1.5 months i have been trying to get an interview date in Hindi at the Delhi counsulate...not sure if you know but i want to understand how many regional hindi language slots open every day...i keep trying continuously from 7 am to 12 pm everyday...but no interview slots. I dont understand what to do. My father passed away 2 months ago...& i want to get my mom here with me for a few months so that the change of env makes her feel better.

This is not an emergency situation for us..hence i cant go with the URGENT application process....hence after losing all the hopes..i was thinking of getting another interview location.

This is a ridiculous process causing inconvience to people. Please advice what can be done...

mindless and useless system

i have also been looking for dates since june 15 everyday for hindi appointment at delhi consulate for my in-laws. i check daily evening from 8pm EST to 1am EST and from 4am EST to 8am EST since almost one month but no dates yet. have had sleepless nights. someone suggested to e-mail the new delhi consulate and VFS. i did that and they responded that if i had an emergency, i could provide them details and reason for emergency and they could give me an appt. i did not have any reason, so i did not qualify. But you can e-mail them about your situation and they may offer you dates without emergency. i believe all those affected by this mindless system of booking appointments MUST take it up with the highest authorities in US and india. together we can make a difference but not alone. what everyone does is that initially they have problems but eventually when they get appointment, they forget about it. We need to get this fixed for ours and our parents/in-laws/relatives future. There has to be a better system like you get a date when u fill the DS-160 automatically instead of having to look for a month or two at odd times or some other system. In my case, I have written a long e-mail to New Delhi consulate and VFS but obviously one person's e-mail would not matter. If it were more people involved, we could change things.

Manish, have you had any luck yet with the appointment?i havent had any. did you see any open slots for hindi at new delhi recently?i have not seen a single open slot till now.

got an interview date for 6th aug today

billu - i just got an interview date today for my mom on 6th Aug after almost a month of trying. Here's what i have understood as a pattern -

1) Keep checking on all fridays (IST 8:15 am is the time when you will get it)
2) Need to be fast when you are booking the interview date when you see it as someone else will beat you through it. (happened to me last friday, i saw a date but by the time i reached the last page....it showed me no dates available now)

I got visa dates in English and its poping on and off since last 3 days for Aug17,18,19 & 20. Please let me know if you have got dates in Hindi or English. I have booked in English and my mom dosent know hindi and my father is comfrtable but bit concerned about american accent...do you know if anyone had a same scenario...

No Success even after 1 month

I have been trying for the past 1 month to schedule an interview for my parents in hindi in new delhi but had no success. I then contacted a travel agent who guaranteed me an interview but he asked Rs. 5k per interview. I guess now we know where all the interviews are going.

Hi nikbenz, if you can send me that agent's number then I would love to expose them through some news channel in India or if you think you can do it then do it yourself by contacting ndtv or Times Now .
Until and unless we bring it in limelight nothings gonna happen.
I'd rather not call my father to visit US than to pay these agents.

As I mentioned in my previous posts,at new delhi (if ur parents/in-laws) know hindi, you can take english appointment and then at the time of interview, your parents/in-laws can ask to be interviewed in hindi. it happened to my in-laws and few of my friends and i have seen a few posts on various forums with similar experience at new delhi. For english appointment, you can try between 8.15pm to 10.15pm central time every weekday and more likely than not, you will get a slot.
