When should I be tested for COVID-19 before traveling to US?

I live in Canada and have a US Visa; I plan to travel there soon, and would like to know when should I be tested for COVID-19
I've seen that some countries require you to be tested the day before, but if I can do it earlier, I would much prefer that in order to get it out of the way.

There is no requirement for COVID-19 testing to travel to the US. Note that if you are going for non-essential travel, you will need to enter the US by air; entry by land is limited to essential travel.
