Tsunami's affect on tourist visas??
Tsunami is a big disaster to south-east asia. I hope the souls of the victims stay in peace and the surviours get enough strength to rebuild their lives.
I am seeing more rejections at Chennai consulate than ever before. Do you all think it is due to Tsunami?
My mother appeared for the interview at Chennai consulate on 4th January and her visa application was refused under 214(b). She said 6 people in her line faced the same problem. One is a old couple(75+ yrs), one is middle-aged couple (in 50's), one is my mom who is single (67yrs), one is a working woman in her middle age (apprx 50's) ==> all these 6 people's applications were refused. They all opted for a telugu translator. I am not sure if the translator would have messed up their words/sentences. Each one of these brought all the necessary papers whatever they could think of. They all were rejected under section 214(b). I was wondering if there is any affect of the Tsunami disaster on the USA tourist visas lately?
