Will Tax Return Transcripts from IRS serve the purpose in sponsor documents of Visito

Hi,

To sponsor the Parents to USA on visitor visa, one of the requirement is last 3 years Tax return documents.

As I did not have them, I asked IRS to send me Transcripts of the Tax returns (this is free) instead of actual copy of returns (this is about $40 for each year).

Now, do anybody understand this.
If yes can somebody suggest if Transcripts serve the purpose or the other one is needed.

They are generally fine.

But as you know, once in a while, you may get a clerk in the consulate who does not understand and goes strictly by what he has been told and does not think beyond that and may create a trouble.
