  • Applying for visa interview with no immediate travel plan to the US.

    Good Day!

I had applied for a B1/B2 visitor visa in February of last year. I had already completed the VAC appointment and was awaiting the Visa interview when Covid hit and the embassy was shut down, resulting in my appointment getting cancelled.

Now that I see interviews being available again, I am planning to complete my visa application.

The problem is, last year I was travelling with my college team to participate in a collegiate competition scheduled in May. So, I had a confirmed travel plan when I had applied for the visa.

Whereas now, since the competition is already over, I have no immediate travel plans to the US.

Can I complete my visa interview on the premise that I had a travel plan while applying, but have no plans as of yet?

    Hi,
If you have no scheduled travel plan and the previous plan got over then Officer may think that, there is no need of applying now and therefore, it can not be approved.. You can apply for B visa only with the help of reason.
    Thanks

The US govt site specifically mentions that you should not plan your travel, until your visa is approved. So confirmed travel plan is not required at all.
