DS 160 question

I am in a civil partnership as a UK citizen with a Colombian citizen applying for nonimmigrant visa to enter the US. Should he classify himself as married or single? The DS 160 does not offer the option of legal civil partnership.

What is civil partnership? There is no such thing in US immigration law. You are either married or not married.
