Hi
I am a US citizen and intend to bring my mom, who is a recent widow, as a permanent resident.
So I am looking to file I-130. However, in the mean time I want her to come to US on B2 visa since she is alone so I looking to renew her B2 visa.
So, should I first apply the I-130 petition and then in the B2 visa DS-160 state "yes" to the question :
"Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?".
I feel I should do it this way because it makes the intent clear to the VO that I am planning to bring her in as a PR and in the interim, I am looking to bring her to US using B2 visa until she gets the PR.
The other option is to renew for the visa with the risk that the VO denies her since she might be considered high risk to stay in US since she recently became a widow.
Can people share their thoughts, experience or suggestions?
thanks in advance!
Andy
