  • DS160 - private tuition as self employed

    Hi,

I am filling up DS160 for my mother in law for B2 visitor visa. I understand there are no appointments but filling it up nevertheless, in case something opens up soon.
My mother in law is a retired teacher from a private school and has no pension. She is currently taking private classes.

There are no fee receipts or tax returns as proof. But there are bank statement entries since all fees are received online via bank transfer.
Should I write "retired" in DS160?
Or write "self-employed" and use the fee money transfer entries from bank statement as payment proof?

We would like to be truthful while writing her information in DS160.

    Thanks for your reply!

    Hi,
Both Answers are correct. But, If she retired then you can mention the same. During Interview, If they ask about current job, She can explain about her current work.
    Thanks
