  • Standard visiting visa for the United Kingdom

I received an email from UKVI last Sunday stating that the visa process was being delayed, blah blah blah, and it has been 20 days since I attended biometrics. I was wondering how long I should expect the results to take. Anyone in a similar circumstance should be ready. TIA.

A Standard Visiting Visa for the United Kingdom allows individuals to travel to the UK for a short stay, typically up to six months, for purposes such as tourism, visiting family or friends, attending business meetings, or participating in short courses or events. Applicants must demonstrate that they intend to leave the UK at the end of their visit kingdom chapter , can financially support themselves during their stay, and can cover the cost of their return journey.

Yeah, that delay email is pretty common lately. Standard UK visas usually take around 3 weeks after biometrics, but delays of up to 4–5 weeks aren’t unusual right now. If it’s still quiet after 25 working days, you can try contacting UKVI or your visa center for an update.
