  • B1/B2 visa us consulate visa query

    Dear friends,
I am trying to invite my parents to the USA. This is would be their first-time visa B1/B2.
We did all the formalities of DS160 preparation and paid the requisite fees way back in September 2021.

We have been trying to get the interview dates in Mumbai, India (in Hindi). We have been trying after every 48 hours to get the interview slot (for my mother and father) but so far no success.

Importantly, we do see the available dates. But, soon we click on available dates, it says (There are currently no appointments available. Please press the Back button and choose a new OFC appointment Date). This issue is going on for a couple of months as my parents try booking the appointment. We did try other locations in India and observed a similar problem ( no interviews available at this time).
Wondering, if folks here had a similar experience? Any thoughts/suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks!
    Best,
    Hansa

Maybe it's faulty or something. Please contact the administrator or re-register

you need to schedule two separate sets of interview dates, the first one for the ASC and the second one for the consular interview. What you are experiencing is that even though you have available dates for the ASC, as you navigate to the second page, due to the lack of any open dates for consular appointments, the page displays the message of There are currently no appointments available. Please press the Back button and choose a new OFC appointment Date). The application is working as expected it's just that user experience and messaging could have been more clear.

I had similar experience. I was actually able to book an appointment for Feb 2nd 2022 for my parents (booked in May 2021). But in Dec 2021 USCIS automatically canceled the appointment saying they can't honor the appointment and I have to rebook. Since then I'm having the same issue as you mentioned. It seems like some VAC appointments are available for biometrics but the consular appointments are not available for interviews. There haven't opened any appointments for new B1/B2 visas.

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad is responsible for providing visa services to those seeking to enter the United States for a temporary period and for those wishing to take up indefinite or permanent residence in the United States

I am also experiencing same issue. Others suggested that interview appointment not available due to which second appointment failure results in this problem. Did you figure out any solution?
