  • Surname and Given Name interchanged

I got my B1/B2 visa in Mumbai in 2007. When I travelled to USA in 2007, the immigration officer in Airport identified this mistake, and asked me to get it corrected. After I returned back to India, I contacted VFS in Mumbai. But no help. Later I relocated to Middle East, and recently I contacted local US embassy, but they said I should approach embassy where the visa was issued. Neither VFS nor US embassy in Mumbai are responding to my emails. Should I travel to India to get this fixed? If I come to Mumbai whom should I contact to get this corrected? VFS or embassy directly? Also my US visa is in my old passport.
Did anyone have similar problem with their Surname/ Given name?
I plan to travel to USA this December. I need to get this fixed before that.
    Appreciate your help/ suggestions.

There is no easy solution to this.

It would be best to get this resolved in person, either at the consulate or at the VFS. Try approaching both.

      Hi,

      I have similar issue.

My visa and passport have interchnaged Given Name & Last Name.

I contacted VFA but no solution. To whom should be I contact for correction.

Hope this should not create issue at POE in US.

      Regards,
