B1/B2 Visa - Extension or New Visa

My parents have been visiting us regularly for the past 10 years. Their last visa is still valid but expires in Aug 2022. They plan to visit us in July for 2-3 months again. Should I apply for a new B1/B2 visa or is there a way to get a visa extension after they arrive in the US with the existing visa?

US visas are solely for entry. If the visa will be valid on the date they enter, then they do not need a new visa. Since they visa expires in August, but they will enter in July, that visa is sufficient. They should be normally admitted for 6 months. There should not be any need to extend their status if they are staying for only 2-3 months.
